The Palau Carolines Resort stands as a cherished gem in Palau, beckoning visitors with its serene ambiance since its inception in 1995. Over the years, it has evolved into a haven of tranquility, inviting guests to embrace a peaceful retreat amidst nature’s embrace.
Nestled within this haven are eight private bungalows, all of which have recently undergone meticulous renovations tailored to meet the discerning needs of modern travelers.
Each bungalow offers the utmost comfort, featuring plush king or twin beds, air conditioning, a well-stocked mini bar, cable TV, wireless internet, and more. Crafted predominantly from local mahogany, mangrove, and bamboo, these dwellings exude a rustic charm that seamlessly blends with the natural surroundings.
Amidst the vibrant pulse of downtown Koror, where bustling hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers thrive, finding a tranquil escape necessitates venturing beyond the urban bustle. Located in the western expanse of Koror State, atop the picturesque village hamlet of Ngerkebesang, lies the resort, enveloped by the rolling hills of Engoll. Here, amidst the serene ambiance of Ketund Hill, guests can unwind and rejuvenate, far removed from the clamor of city life.
From your own private balcony, the bungalows, designed and inspired by the natural environment, have a perfect view of the jungle below and the rock islands, across the bay, towards the southwest.
The warble of the birds and the fresh island breeze carried up the hill can cleanse the soul and provide a solace and solemnity you won’t find anywhere else.
At dusk comes another gift in the sunset’s waning light; the flight of the fruit bats on their nightly return to the gigantic miich (tropical almond) trees on the property. At night you will hear the eventual whistle of the local toads as they call out to one another.

What a gem! We stayed in one of the two luxury tents with the most amazing view over the Rock Islands which we enjoyed every morning as the breakfast was served on our private terrace. The tents are very spacious and equipped with all amenities we could have possibly asked for. Fan, A/C, high quality coffee machine, minibar, radio, USB ports and deck chairs. Very comfy beds.
Staff super friendly and helpful. The resort has a shutle that you can book for transfers to/from restaurants at night at very reasonable price (same as a taxi). Would definitely stay here again during our next trip.
Our flight was delayed by two days because of the typhoon but Carolines Resort made our short time here very special. The cabin/ hit was beautiful and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and bountiful. Incredible service from kind, friendly staff. We haven’t even checked out yet and we already want to come back.
Beautiful room with great beds, linens, a/c. Stunning view and balcony. Extremely helpful staff. Clean and just as pictured online with nice breakfast out on the balcony. It's a short drive into town but definitely worth it to stay here. There's a small "lobby" building but not much of a communal area. This is not a problem at all but just know that it feels more like a bungalow rental than a hotel. We loved it and would definitely recommend!
